Welcome Orchard Hill Elementary!

Welcome to Orchard Hill Elementary School – the proud home of the Pelicans where "Learning Takes Flight!”

In the fall of 2023, a focus group of community volunteers and Weld RE-4 staff members worked diligently to identify a name, colors, and mascot for our new school. They considered the agricultural history of the land, farm-to-table community, and surrounding environmental attributes that would uniquely identify our building within an already thriving school district. After much research, crowdsourcing and deliberation, they recommended Orchard Hill as the name to represent the bountiful agrarian theme of the local area.

Keeping in the interest of representing our community, the focus group recommended designating our school mascot as the Pelicans. These beautiful birds can be found gracing our town's bright, sunshiny skies and paddling in our lakes and rivers. Pelicans are symbols for quality character traits that our learning community values including focus, grace, resourcefulness, and teamwork!

As we step into a new academic year, let us remember the lessons of the past, the accomplishments of those who came before us, and the potential that each new day brings. Together, let's commit to helping create a thriving community of learners, thinkers, and achievers.
